Saffredi is a robust, rich, and complex Super Tuscan, crafted with a Bordeaux blend and aged in barrique for 18 months. Broad, intense aromas of berries, spices, and balsamic herbs emerge from a rounded, velvety texture, with great balance and persistence: an exuberant expression of the Tuscan Maremma.

 

Maremma Toscana Rosso IGT “Saffredi” Fattoria Le Pupille

The Maremma Toscana red wine "Saffredi" was created in 1987 from a vineyard planted a few years earlier by Elisabetta's mentor and her dear friend, the renowned winemaker Giacomo Tachis. Fredi, hence the name, never had the opportunity to taste the fruit of his vineyard, which is why Elisabetta dedicated this label to her daughters' grandfather. A masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, Fattoria Le Pupille's "Saffredi" is aged for approximately 18 months in new and used barriques. The result is a rich and elegant wine with a distinct Mediterranean vocation.

The Maremma Toscana red wine "Saffredi" displays an impenetrable ruby red color. The nose reveals deep notes of red fruits, currants, and blackberries, blending with spicy aromas of cloves and cinnamon. A hint of vanilla opens the mouthfeel to a rounded and velvety finish, whose tannins are well-supported by a certain freshness. Of rare complexity, it closes with a virtually infinitely persistent finish.
