Muffato della Sala is a sweet white wine made from grapes affected by noble rot, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the berries, concentrating sugars and aromatic compounds. The harvest lasted over a month to ensure all the grapes reached perfect ripeness.

Umbria IGT "Muffato Della Sala" Marchesi Antinori

Antinori's Muffato Della Sala wine displays a translucent gold color upon tasting. The nose opens with expressive aromas of dried apricot, candied citrus peel, and honey, along with hints of sweet spice and hints of iodine. On the palate, it expresses sweetness that counterbalances a vein of acidity and minerality, blending together in a harmonious balance. The finish is truly persistent and almondy. It matures for six months in Allier and Troncaise barriques.

COMBINATIONS

To be paired with an apple strudel but also with a foie gras escalope.
