For Laphroaig Oak Select, the master distiller hand-selects whiskies aged in Oloroso sherry casks, first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks at varying stages of maturation. The whisky is then aged in virgin American oak casks, a rare wood for Scotch whisky. This creates a distinctive blend of aromas of peat smoke, medicinal herbs, and seaweed, leaving plenty of room for notes of red fruit, lime, and a floral finish.

The Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky "Oak Select" Laphroaig presents a bright gold color when tasted. Classic notes of peat and medicinal herbs give way to chocolate and malt, culminating in an almost citrusy finish. On the palate, the peat is present but not overpowering, sweet and smooth, with a long finish featuring lingering floral notes and hints of marzipan and lime.
