A seductive red, it features a powerful tannic structure that maintains perfect balance with its savory flavors. The aromatic finish is long and reminiscent of peony and licorice. Classified as a Cru in 1953, Château Latour-Martillac owes its name to the tower that adorned the main courtyard, a symbol of the fort built in Martillac in the 12th century by the ancestors of the famous philosopher and winemaker Montesquieu. Purchased in 1929 by wine merchant Édouard Kressmann, the Château is now managed by Tristan and Loïc Kressmann who, advised by Bordeaux's top winemakers, have contributed to the renovation of the cellars to enhance the quality of these marvelous Pessac-Léognan wines.

It has an expressive nose of ripe dark fruit, moist earth, and mushroom, with spicy undertones of cloves and black pepper. On the palate, it's fleshy and seductive, with a powerful tannic structure that maintains perfect balance with the savory flavors. The aromatic finish is long, reminiscent of peony and licorice.

COMBINATIONS

Excellent with mature cheeses, game and important meat-based second courses.
