Lore, from Gaelic, means "passage," and it pays homage to the passing down of knowledge and techniques for the distillation of this single malt. It is matured using a combination of small, barrique-style casks, ex-Sherry casks, second-fill casks, and, finally, ex-Bourbon casks. The result is all about its unique aroma and full-bodied flavor, capable of exhilarating the most refined palates.
Laphroaig Lore Single Malt Scotch Whisky displays a deep gold color. The nose opens with its signature peat notes, giving way to delicious notes of honey, orange blossom, and caramel, along with pleasant nuances of vanilla and chocolate. These sensations are repeated on the palate, with an almost creamy sip enveloped in a warm, alcoholic embrace. The finish is persistent and dry, slowly fading into a long, peaty trail.
