Amaro Boonekamp Petrus 70cl
This Amaro is distilled from rare botanicals from various continents, and from that moment on, the fame of the amaro, which he named after him, quickly spread throughout the world. Numerous herbs are used in the composition of Petrus, and among them, galangal plays a key role, a perennial herb native to India and China, widely used in pharmacy as an aromatic eupeptic. The label bears a warning that "he who does not serve it dies," a memo addressed to bartenders everywhere! The ideal way to enjoy it is at room temperature and without ice, which would alter its color and flavor. Petrus Boonekamp, a great Dutch liqueur maker, first created this amaro in 1777.
Amaro Boonekamp Petrus
Amaro Boonekamp Petrus presents a deep, luminous mahogany color. The nose offers a variety of herbaceous and floral aromas, with hints of dried rose, brandied cherry, and cocoa bean. The palate is decidedly bitter, balanced, and mellow, with a rich structure and balance that lends it a pleasantly persistent finish. It finishes with bitter notes of gentian and rhubarb, with a subtle kick of ginger.
