Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Reserve Tenuta Greppo Biondi 2015
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Tenuta Creppi by Biondi Santi is a myth that is perpetuated from year to year. Produced only in a few vintages, those considered truly exceptional, it ages 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and is a wine of absolute class, as well as of unparalleled longevity. The advice, as Franco Biondi Santi loved to say, is to uncork the bottle at least 8 hours before its consumption.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva Tenuta Greppo Biondi Santi
Biondi Santi's Brunello Riserva is one of those wines that excite us, that make us understand how important traditions are to produce wines that are fully expressive of a territory and rich in character and personality. A wine that continues to make the history of the appellation thanks to the Biondi Santi family who, with passion and a maniacal knowledge of vines and soils, has been able to improve over time without losing its style inextricably linked to tradition. Coming from the vineyards of the historic family estate, Greppo , aged between 15 and 30 years, is a Brunello that ages for 36 months strictly in only large Slavonian oak barrels. Austerity, class and an out-of-the-ordinary evolutionary potential, for a bottle to be uncorked a few hours before consumption and become witnesses of the extraordinary instantaneity of a unique terroir.
TASTING NOTES Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2011 Biondi Santi
- At tasting, the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG Biondi Santi Tenuta Greppo wine shows a bright ruby color, of great vivacity. Elegant aromatic complexity, changing over the minutes: red fruits in jam, dried lavender and oregano, undergrowth, Kentucky tobacco, followed by leather and sweet spices, with ethereal hints in the background. The sip conquers the mouth, little by little, widening in an engaging gustatory development. Silky tannins, excellent acidity in balance with the alcoholic boost. Persistent and satisfying, with a pleasantly savory ending.
