Elvio Cogno's Barolo "Ravera" is an important and very intense red wine, coming from the homonymous cru and aged for 24 months in large barrels. Floral and spicy on the nose, it is full, robust and round on the palate, with great structure and excellent balance.

 

Barolo DOCG Ravera Elvio Cogno

When tasted, Elvio Cogno's Barolo Ravera red wine shows an intense, lively, brilliant garnet red color, with slight orange reflections. On the nose it appears frank, elegant and powerful; evokes hints of dog rose, mint and tobacco which over time turn to spicy aromas, coffee, licorice, truffle and finally leather and minerals. In the mouth it appears full, round, with great structure and good balance; reminiscent of plum jam and blackberry. The aftertaste is fresh and harmonious, very pleasant due to the aromatic persistence. Able to refine its characteristics over the years, it reaches classic elegance and composure over time.

He loves braised meats, game in civet and jugged, large roasts, mature but not spicy cheeses, such as pecorino and Parmigiano Reggiano.
