Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fieramonte Allegrini 2012 75 cl
Amarone Fieramonte tells about Valpolicella and its most important traditions, thanks to a mix of values firmly based on a high hill vineyard, characterized by slopes facing south, and on the stubbornness of the man who has always collected the better.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva "Fieramonte" Allegrini
The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. After over-ripening in the loft, in January they are de-stemmed and subjected to soft pressing. The wine ages for 48 months in 225 liter French oak barriques, followed by 6 months of bulk in large Slavonian oak barrels and bottle aging for about 1 year.
TASTING NOTES
Amarone Della Valpolicella Riserva "Fieramonte" by Allegrini, when tasted it shows a particularly intense and compact ruby red color, it opens strongly to the nose with a broad and toasted aroma of coffee and tobacco. When tasted, it impresses with its imposing structure. The tannin is well present but does not attack the palate, accompanied by a fresh and vital acidity that lengthens and streamlines the sip.
PAIRINGS
"Fieramonte" Amarone goes well with “strong” dishes from the most diverse gastronomic traditions. In Italy braised meats and game, especially quail and partridge, then stewed venison, roast lamb, wild-flavored suckling pig, pigeon in its sauce, long-aged cheeses; in Asian and Middle Eastern culinary expressions it is perfect, thanks to the marked hints of dried grapes, with spicy and sweet and sour creations, above all the Peking duck.
